What is WOTC? The Work Opportunity Tax Credit (WOTC) is a federal tax credit available to employers who hire from certain target groups — including veterans. Credits range from $2,400 to $9,600 per qualifying veteran hire and directly reduce your federal income tax liability dollar for dollar. Most SMB employers either don't know about it or miss the critical 28-day filing window. VetCredit closes that gap.
⚠ The 28-Day Rule ?
Form 8850 must reach your State Workforce Agency within 28 days of the veteran's first day of work. Missing this deadline forfeits the credit permanently.
⚠ Hours Worked Matter ?
400+ hours = full credit (40% of wages). 120–399 hours = partial credit (25%). Under 120 hours = no credit.
📋 Two Forms Required ?
